Gorgeous blue and white Chinoiserie platter. Rectangular in shape and manufactured by T. W. in the 1800s. The pattern is known as Aurora. While I wasn't able to find the name of the manufacturer of this piece of English Transferware, other than the initials, I found the exact same platter manufactured by Beech and Hancock from the mid to late 1800s. The design is quite elaborate with a wide, slightly ruffled and beveled lip that is either a rectangular oval or an oval rectangle. The lip is an wide leaf scroll. The white around the center scene and the wide lip create a gorgeous frame affect and this platter would be stunning as wall art, either alone or in combination with other platters. The center scene is a willow tree and hoop dressed women standing next to a sitting Japanese woman with her dog in a Japanese garden setting with pagodas, bridge over a lake and temple in the background. The back is marked with an eagle, the T. W. and the pattern name Aurora. It also has the letter 7 and an imprint into the clay
