Antique Victorian blue and white transfer rose pattern Serving Dish or Platter
Antique blue and white transfer serving plate or platter, in the ‘Wild Rose’ pattern. The scene shows Nuneham Park, which is the home of Earl Harcourt t the left and a riverside cottage to the right, with two punts on the river in the foreground.
The scene is based upon an engraving by W Cooke, which is after a drawing by S Owen, who was from the village of Nuneham Courtenay, in the Oxford area. The original engraving was published on 1 February 1811.
