This is a lovely antique Furnivals "Quail" Brown Transferware Platter (sometimes referred to as a chop plate), featuring the highly collectible and distinct "Quail" pattern. The piece showcases a fine brown/sepia transfer print on a creamy white ironstone body, depicting a classic Aesthetic Movement scene of a quail or pheasant pair within an ornate, flowing landscape of flowers and grasses. Produced by Furnivals (1913) Ltd in Staffordshire, England, with the pattern registered in 1921 (Registration No. 684771), this platter's decorative scalloped edge and central avian motif make it an ideal piece for display, a beautiful addition to a brown transferware collection, or a stately serving dish perfect for a traditional or farmhouse-style home.
