A gorgeous piece! This is a silver-plated teapot with these distinctive features:

  • Melon/gadrooned lobed body — bold vertical lobes on the lower half, plain upper body
  • Stepped circular pedestal foot — substantial and well-proportioned
  • Domed lid with an ornate silver finial (urn or thistle form)
  • Black ebonised D-shaped handle with decorative silver collar and scroll mounts
  • Elegant curved swan-neck spout
  • Excellent bright polish — very good condition with minimal wear
  • The gadrooned decoration and pedestal foot are hallmarks of Regency to early Victorian silverplate, c.1820–1850
