Antique Royal Doulton D3088 Floral & Geometric Cabinet Plate (c. 1914)

A magnificent antique cabinet plate by Royal Doulton, produced at the Burslem factory in Staffordshire, England, and dating to approximately 1914. Bearing the pattern number D3088, this richly decorated piece showcases an exuberant design of pink peonies and acanthus scrollwork set against a deep cobalt blue ground, framed by a Classical Greek key border in sage green — a palette that speaks confidently to the Edwardian taste for bold, orientalist-influenced ornament.

The decoration is applied with exceptional precision: the floral centres radiate outward in a symmetrical mandala composition, with stylised pine cones and gilded foliate highlights adding further depth and complexity. The reverse bears the iconic Royal Doulton lion-and-crown backstamp and hand-written pattern inscription, confirming authenticity and period.
