Capodimonte is a renowned style of Italian fine porcelain. It was founded in 1743 in Naples by King Charles VII and his wife, Maria Amalia. The original factory closed when the royal family moved to Spain, but the tradition was revived in the late 18th century. Today, "Capodimonte" refers to a distinctive style—known for its delicate, hand-modeled floral and figural decorations, often in high relief—rather than a single factory, with many private potteries adopting the name and crown-and-N mark.
