A Georgian Mahogany Wall Mirror, The rectangular glass set in a moulded frame with carved gilt slip and a silhouette cut base and crested pediment pierced with a roundel to the centre and infilled with a bird with outswept wings, 31½” x 19” (80 cm x 49 cm).

1830 to 1880 Wall mirror base on the original Chippendale Georgian Phoenix example also know as the (FU 福 Bird)

The phoenix, a symbol of rebirth and renewal, accentuates the ornate nature of this piece and gives it a sense of grandeur. The gilded finish is rich and vibrant, providing an opulent feeling to any space it occupies.

Lovely antique circa 1880 wall mirror based on the original Thomas Chippendale Georgian Phoenix example 

A nice, decorative and highly coveted wall mirror, known as the Thomas Chippendale Phoenix mirror these are quintessentially English, designed by the greatest furniture maker in England’s history, Chippendale chairs sell in the millions.

This mirror is what’s called and original patina piece meaning it has been lightly restored to include a clean wax and polish however not fully restored to cover the age-related patination. The timber has various timber shrinkage cracks, as expected with a 260+ year old piece. The mirror plate is thick with a wide band bevel, it has a gold gilt surround, and the Phoenix is course gilt as well.
