Sadler 1930 Daintee The Crinoline teapot
Sadler 1930 Daintee The Crinoline teapot
A wonderfully kitsch, quirky and original teapot, in the shape of a Victorian lady wearing a full crinoline dress. The teapot is in a stunning shade of apple green over white. It stands about 19cms (7.5 inches) tall. Dates from the 1930s or 1940s. Excellent vintage condition on the outside. Light crazing overall and a little damage on the inside rim, which seems to be quite common with this model because of the double lugs on the lid. History: James Sadler is a popular English manufacturer
The name of the teapot is Ye Daintee Lady, and sometimes called The Crinoline Lady. Sadler produced this series of teapots in the 1930s. This is a figural teapot. The teapot was made in the mold to appear as if it was a lady all dressed up in her ballgown.
