This mahogany dining chair is a classic example of Edwardian-era craftsmanship, dating to circa 1900–1910. While it draws heavily from 18th-century Chippendale and Hepplewhite influences—specifically with its yoke-shaped top rail and elegant pierced splat—the vertical orientation and lighter proportions of the backrest are typical of the Edwardian revival period. The seat features a charming, hand-stitched floral needlepoint (often referred to as wool work) with a central rose wreath motif on a warm tan ground. The chair's structure is grounded by sturdy, straight legs connected by an H-shaped stretcher, ensuring durability while maintaining its neoclassical aesthetic.
