A love quality antique Japanese cloisonné enamel vase dating from the end of the nineteenth century.
The decoration is floral and geometric patterns on a dark background.
Cloisonné is a technique used for creating designs on metal vessels with coloured glass paste placed within enclosures made of copper or bronze wires which have been hammered into the desired pattern.
There is a small section where the enamel is missing but it looks as if it is part of the design as seen in the last photo.
