Late 19th Century Walnut Writing Slope ~
A nice walnut writing slope dating to around the late 1800’s, maybe the early 1900’s.
The slope is of walnut with brass inlay edging. The lock plate and a cartouche to the top are painted to resemble
brass.
The box opens to reveal the writing slope which is of red leather with gilt detailing.
There are compartments at one end to house pens, nibs etc
Both sides of the slope can be raised up for storage.
The base of the slope is covered in a green hessian like material.
