Small in scale, enormous in character.

There is a particular charm to a well-made Victorian occasional table — and this delightful circular example, with its distinctive segmented leather top and graceful tripod base, possesses it in abundance.

The circular top is inset with a beautifully divided leather panel: warm cognac tan sections radiating from a darker central medallion, each separated by fine gilt line tooling that catches the light with quiet elegance. It is an unusual and refined treatment — more decorative than the standard single-panel leather top, and all the more interesting for it.

The dark mahogany crossbanded rim frames the leather with crisp precision, while below, a slender ring-turned pedestal column sweeps down to three elegantly curved cabriole legs with pad feet — a nod to the Queen Anne style that Victorian cabinetmakers returned to again and again for its timeless grace.

Use it as a lamp table beside an armchair, a wine table beside a sofa, a bedside table in a guest room, or a plant stand in a hallway. Its compact scale makes it endlessly versatile; its quality makes it endlessly desirable.

A quietly beautiful piece of English Victorian craftsmanship — one that rewards a closer look.
